Two small but special pieces of Caughley blue and white under glaze printed porcelain dating from about 1775 - 85. The larger item is a strainer for milk or egg-white. The smaller is a rare wine taster with an acanthus moulded handle (SOLD). They are respectively stock numbers 4133c and 4134c with prices of £225 and £195. |
Pembroke shape teapot from a Coalport Tea Service in "Rose Pompadour" hand painted floral sprays and gilt decoration under pattern number 2/323 made by John Rose in about 1825 - 28. Unusually the service is undamaged and comprises a teapot cover and stand, sucrier and cover and creamer with saucer both in a similar globular form, together with a bread and butter plate and six Old English style fluted teacups and saucers and four similar but smaller cups. £750 for set of 25 pieces. |
Two Worcester items of the First Period both of underglaze blue floral decoration - they are:On the left stock no.4138 c a scalloped edged shallow dish in the Pine Cones pattern with a chip to the footrim - it's only blemish - dating from 1765 - 8 this carries a price of £245.On the right the tea bowl and saucer are in a rare form of fluted moulding in the "Hollow Rock Lily pattern" dating from 1760-65 and illustrated by Geoffrey Godden in his book on blue and White porcelain plate 178.Stock no. 4137 c priced at £330. |
A half fluted oval teapot and cover by John Rose at Coalport in one of the earliest attributable forms and in a blue and white "Broseley" pattern with the gilt clobbering a little rubbed. Dates from 1800-05 and costs a mere £125. Stock no. 4131c |
